The Faculty of Social Sciences welcomes (International) Students!

Social Sciences – more relevant than ever!

04/24/2020 | 1:17 PM

Thinking about engaging in a study in Social Sciences? This seems to be more relevant than ever. The challenges our society faces today in social distancing, working from home and the stress that has been put on our health care system, are issues in which our faculty is committed in research and education. In our bachelor and master programmes we educate and work on these issues with professionals from our faculty and outside the VU. They inspire and challenge you to seek new solutions.

On campus if we can. ONLINE because we can.
Yes, these times are uncertain, but also in the academic year 2020-2021 the Vrije Universiteit offers full-fledged programmes. Throughout these current challenges, we have ensured continuity of all our programmes and we will continue to do so for our programmes starting in September. Teaching will be offered in hybrid form: online and where possible and permitted, on campus. If education on campus is gradually getting started and you are not yet abled or allowed to come to VU Amsterdam, alternative online opportunities are offered. One thing we can guarantee: Education at VU Amsterdam will continue!

Are you an international student thinking of following a programme at VU Amsterdam?
We are ready to welcome you in September! International students represent a large and thriving student body at Faculty of Social Sciences. As with any study travel abroad, you may have uncertainties as an international student, regarding visa, housing, studying, finances, healthcare provision. We are here for you. We believe studying at our faculty is not only about education. It is also about meeting new people and growing together. We are committed to do so online and offline. In any case, we like to work in small groups to build a strong community of students. We look forward to welcoming you in our community and will support you in your studies and beyond.
