The Institute for Societal Resilience focusses on multi- and interdisciplinary research, in which the research disciplines of the Faculty of Social Sciences (sociology, political science, public administration, social and cultural anthropology, communication science and organization sciences) cooperate on resilience issues. The transdisciplinary cooperation with societal partners is important for that research.
Research within ISR is organized around four research subtheme’s, each led by a theme leader:
- Resilient governance - Willem Trommel
- Resilience, diversity and inclusion - Halleh Ghorashi
- Resilience through communication, organization and interconnectedness - Tilo Hartmann
- Care and welfare in a resilient society - Marjolein Broese van Groenou
