The Institute for Societal Resilience focusses on multi- and interdisciplinary research, in which the research disciplines of the Faculty of Social Sciences (sociology, political science, public administration, social and cultural anthropology, communication science and organization sciences) cooperate on resilience issues. The transdisciplinary cooperation with societal partners is important for that research.

Research within ISR is organized around four research subtheme’s, each led by a theme leader:

Overall, ISR will be managed by a programme leader, with the help of the research office of FSS, which supports, develops and coordinates research activities and other initiatives within the institute.
