Ewa J. Miedzobrodzka is a PhD Canidate at the Department of Communication Science Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam studying video games in relation to emotions and self-control. In the academic year 2012/2013 she was an exchange student within Erasmus program at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. In 2013 she obtained her Masters degree in psychology at the SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities at Sopot, Poland. After graduation she conducted studies on emotion information processing and inhibitory control in violent video game players as a continuation of her Master's research project, and as a research assistant at the Department of Communication at Vrije Universiteit. In 2015 her research project entitled 'Traces of violent gameplay in adolescent development' was awarded with the Research Talent Grant from NWO enabling her start of PhD under supervision of prof. dr. Elly Konijn and prof. dr. Lydia Krabbendam.
